Chester & The Girl next door

Chester & The Girl next door

Chester has been adventurous since the day we brought him home.

When him and Cooper were old enough to venture outside with their brother Frankie we noticed that while they did explore the neighborhood at first, they would mainly patrol the block and come home. All 3 of them spend most of their time indoors now or staying on the edge of the property and watching the world go by.

Our neighborhood is full of cats, and we've caught Chester inviting many other cats over to partake in the catnip and hang out in the backyard. Cooper and Frankie are not keen to this at times but mostly tolerate his generosity. Being the social butterfly that he is, Chester has been known to wander for longer periods of time lately without his brothers. We were always curious about where he was spending his time.

Until we learned about Penny...

It started with a tree, our neighbors tree to be exact.

They would send us pictures at least once a week of Chester hanging out in the tree. We have a lot of squirrels and birds in the area, so him hanging out there didn't really surprise us.

The tree then lead to their front door, which lead to a screen.

Our neighbors have 3 indoor cats and had started opening the door for them to see Chester through the screen. While their boys didn't really seem interested, Penny was a different story.

We think for Chester, it was love at first sight.

So while Penny can't come over and partake in the catnip and hang out in the backyard, she's made it a point to wait at the door for him, and Chester has made it a point to visit her whenever he sees her mom and dad outside. He's even brought her presents, like this blanket she claimed immediatly and some toys.

So even though it is a realtionship from afar, we think it will endure. This valentines day, he plans on giving her catnip :)

Happy Valentines Day to all our furry friends!
